Dr. Jörg Riesmeier
Senior Adviser IT
Jörg Riesmeier is an independent IT consultant and regularly supports NOCON as Senior Adviser IT. He holds a PhD in computer science and is an expert in IT issues relating to the implementation of commitments (e.g. interoperability obligations). Jörg has particular expertise in the field of medical IT, especially in medical image communication standards (e.g. DICOM and IHE).
From 1998 to 2006, Jörg was a research assistant at the OFFIS R&D institute in Oldenburg. In 2006, he co-founded the ICSMED company and worked as the head of Medical Communication Systems until 2012. Since 2012 he works as a freelancer and offers training, consulting and software development.
Jörg studied computer science at the University of Oldenburg and holds a PhD (Dr. rer. nat.) in computer science. Jörg has published over 100 abstracts, papers and articles on computer science and medical image communication. In addition to his native language German, he is fluent in English.

Technical expert of the NOCON trustee team in the cases Google Automotive Services (B7-25/22), Siemens Healthineers/Varian Medical Systems (M.9945), and Telekom/EWE (B7-21/18).
Consultancy for the development of DICOM interfaces and the analysis of interoperability problems as well as support for the creation of DICOM conformance statements.
Participation in various working groups of the DICOM Committee. Development of prototypes and reference implementations on behalf of the NEMA Committee for the Advancement of DICOM. One of the main developers of the Open Source DICOM toolkit DCMTK.
